4 Granny Smith Apples
4 Macoun Apples
1 TBSP cornstarch
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/8 tsp ground cloves
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
3 TBSP almond or nut butter
3 TBSP unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup plain oats
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp sale


  1. Peel and core the apples and slice thin.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  3. Line a 8×8 pan with parchment paper. 
  4. Place the sliced apples in a mixing bowl. 
  5.  To that bowl add the cornstarch, filling spices, and maple syrup. Mix well.
  6. Place the apple mixture into the prepared baking pan
  7. To make the topping stir together the maple syrup, nut butter, applesauce, and vanilla until smooth
  8. Finally, add the oats, cinnamon, salt, and toss to coat
  9. Spread the topping generously over the apple in the pan 
  10. Bake for 50-60 minutes
